Jesus IS Coming For His Church! Paul established the church in Thessalonica early in his ministry, on his second missionary journey. It was one of the churches that suffered grave persecution from the very beginning of it’s existence. But the testimony of the church rang forth! In Paul’s words, “… the report about your faith in God has gone everywhere.”
The first letter Paul writes to the Thessalonian Church is from Corinth. He wants to encourage them in their new found faith. They have some very practical questions about what Paul had taught them about Jesus Christ and His coming back for them. What if a believer dies before Jesus comes? Some of our friends and relatives have died! Will they still be resurrected? When will Jesus come? Will it be soon? Paul assures them, “YES!! He will come! And even the dead will be raised! Comfort one another with that knowledge.” He tells them to go on working and serving faithfully as they wait in hope for the Glory that Jesus will bring, both to them and to the loved ones who have died.
The second letter Paul writes is not so comforting. It is corrective. There is trouble and confusion in the new church. Someone was spreading rumors that the Day of the Lord was upon them and that they had somehow missed the return of their Lord. Paul says, “No, the Day of the Lord has not come!” He assures them the Day of the Lord does not come until the “Man of Sin” brings about a great apostasy that will climax with his ultimate opposition to Jesus, when this wicked one proclaims himself as God and takes the seat in God’s Temple. Paul tells them to stay the course and persevere in the midst of confusion and persecution. A tall order!

“Hitler’s Cross”
Yes! Jesus WILL come!
But how bad can it get before He does?
When the Church looks for “rescue” from political leaders, we link the Cross of Christ to a political party.
What happens when we wrap the Cross in a flag? It happened in Germany. Can it happen here? Erwin Lutzer shows us the warning signs.
I highly recommend it!

“Seeing With Two ‘I’s: Imminence and Israel”
The two lessons above are from 2 weeks of class. There were many questions and discussion, so they are edited more than usual. Only the basic content is here.
The PDF slides will reflect what was taught in the class.
The first lesson is 20 min, the second is 11 min.
Want to understand
differing views about
The Millennium?
John MacArthur and Richard Mayhue
provide a clear and convincing Biblical
explanation using Scripture to prove
the reality of Christ's millennial reign
on earth. Christ's Prophetic Plans
shows the certain fulfillment of God's
promises to Israel, and shows the
crucial differences between Israel as
a future nation and the present New
Testament Church.
The chapter by Matthew Waymeyer on “Revelation 20 “ alone is worth the price of the book.

We had a quiz today. The quiz is in the slides if you want to take it yourself. The answers are on the second sheet.
YES He IS Coming!
This is Erwin Lutzer at his best!
A sensible presentation of truth based on Biblical evidence. He shows us what is yet to come, and it is beyond the scope of our wildest projections. Pastor Lutzer wants to give us Hope, and to assure that we have not been left in the dark. And we won’t be “left behind.” I am on my second read through this book.
I highly recommend this one!
